Avenger II Tall Fescue
Avenger II demonstrated consistent superior performance in the 2012 National Turfgrass Evaluation Program (NTEP) Tall Fescue Trial. In thousands of individual evaluations spread across multiple locations evaluating multiple performance characterics over 4 years from 2013-17, Avenger II finished in the top 25% of the trial 89.5% of the time, which is the highest success rate of all 116 varieties entered in the trial. (see page 1, see page 2) The consistent performance demonstrates the value of plant breeding, which is the key to a better lawn. Specifically, Avenger II is rated 4 stars (the highest rating) in every region across the country for turfgrass quality and it has one of the highest ratings for Brown Patch resistance, which is a natural-born killer of tall fescue, especially in the humid growing conditions of the Transition Zone. Avenger II is on the recommended list in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Kansas Avenger II is on the 2019 A-List for sustainable turf.
